The new agreement with Disney's majority-owned National Geographic brand grants Lindblad Expeditions exclusive global rights for expedition cruises.
Both trade and consumers may have been confused in the past when rival operators also branded certain products 'National Geographic'. That confusion now appears to have been resolved following the announcement.

The two vessels were reportedly acquired for US$17m with both due to sail exclusively in the Galapagos. Through the previously disclosed procurement of Torcatt Enterprises Limitada, an Ecuadorian holding entity, ownership stakes in two distinct vessels were acquired. These vessels, accommodating 48 and 16 passengers respectively, were formerly operated as Celebrity Xpedition and Celebrity Xploration.
