Vessel: SH Diana IMO 9921740
Itinerary: Paradise Isles of the Indian Ocean
In a first for ExpeditionCruising.com, we are travelling aboard the gorgeous newbuild vessel, SH Diana, beginning in the exquisite Seychelles Islands and culminating in East Africa.
Launched in May 2023, Diana is the third in the current fleet* of virtually identical 125m, 192-passenger ice-class vessels operating for the 75-year-old brand which was founded by a British father and son team. Then known as Swan's Tours, the cruise line has always had enrichment and cultural immersion at its core and so it is with our 10-night Paradise Isles of the Indian Ocean itinerary.
We're not expecting a hardcore expedition in the polar sense - even though Swan Hellenic does offer polar expeditions - but rather a gentle exploration of some remote and virtually unknown islands. In fact, looking at the line's cruise calendar there is an abundance of off-the-radar destinations ripe for the picking. Almost the entire coastline of Africa, every nook and cranny of the Mediterranean, as well as some of the untrodden islands and shores of Central America and the Caribbean, are all on offer to those with a thirst for discovery.

* We say 'third' vessel, but Swan Hellenic currently only have two (Vega and Diana) in operation.
