A collision between a river cruise vessel and a private pleasure craft on the Danube River near the town of Verőce, near Budapest, has resulted in the confirmed deaths of two, while another five are listed as missing. In a report published by ABC News, citing Hungarian public television station M1, it stated that the cruise boat, the 109m 110-passenger Heidelberg, did not stop after the collision and police are trying to determine if it was aware of the collision with the smaller pleasure boat.
The deadly accident comes five years after at least 27 people were killed in Budapest when the river cruise boat, Viking Sigyn, collided with a smaller tourist vessel, sinking it in seconds.
