In an official ceremony held in Fiji last week, Captain Cook Cruises welcomed the luxury small ship MS Caledonian Sky to its fleet.
Executive Chair Allison Haworth West alongside Captain Peter Martin welcomed official guests on board including Tourism Fiji Chief Executive Officer Brent Hill and Adi Varanisese Ligalevu Tavaiqia, representing the Vanua of Vuda, and named as MS Caledonian Sky’s Godmother.
The day was filled with cherished Fijian traditions such as the Sevusevu ceremony (traditional welcome ceremony) honouring both Fijian and maritime traditions with the cutting of a flower garland by Fijian Godmother to officially welcome the ship to her new home in Fiji.
Her first departure set sail on 11 November 2023 on a 3-night Mamanuca and Southern Yasawa Islands departure, where guests immersed themselves in the pristine, remote islands of Fiji.
