Intrepid Travel, the B Corp-certified leader in responsible travel, celebrated the launch of their Antarctica 24/25 season with an agent event held at their Melbourne headquarters last week.

Over 50 Melbourne-based travel agents attended the event hosted by Intrepid’s ANZ Partnerships team of Yvette Thompson, Abbe Lunn, Leah Johnson, Leigh Reynolds, Charlie Riewoldt, and Linda Braumueller.

Yvette Thompson, Intrepid’s General Manager of Sales & Partnerships ANZ, said, “we are delighted to provide traveller’s the chance to visit the seventh continent and offer agents the education and resources to become polar experts.”

The evening event consisted of numerous informative activities, including a Q&A panel hosted by Intrepid’s expert polar team, who were on hand to discuss polar insights, tips and tricks. The team spoke about Intrepid’s Citizen Science program aboard the Ocean Endeavour, which helps to collect invaluable data to better understand Antarctica and the issues it faces.

This was followed by a Q&A with industry legend Lyn McNaught from Lyn McNaught travel, who has travelled to Antarctica an incredible 11 times. Lyn McNaught states, “Antarctica is still a raw, somewhat, unexplored great wilderness. One of the things I love about travelling with Intrepid on the Ocean Endeavour, is that it is a renovated expedition ship, so you still feel like an explorer when visiting this stunning landscape.”

Agents in attendance went in the draw to win an Intrepid Best of Antarctica: Pristine Wilderness trip departing 2 November 2023. The lucky winner was Anita Forlani from Flight Centre Broadmeadows who has only been at Flight Centre for two months.

Intrepid offers travellers a wealth of activities in Antarctica, including kayaking and snowshoeing, and will be introducing paddle boarding across both 23/24 and 24/25 seasons.
