Aranui Offers More Australs and Goes Back to Bora Bora in 2024

French Polynesian cargo cruise line Aranui Cruises has released its 2024 program including a return to Bora Bora and more Discovery cruises taking guests to far-flung corners of the region.

On sale now, the 2024 program features 23 scheduled cruises around the South Pacific on Aranui 5, a 125-metre mixed freight and passenger vessel which offers one of the few remaining cargo-cruise experiences in the world.

In line with Aranui's freight operations, most (20) of the cruises are 12-day roundtrip itineraries from Papeete to the six inhabited Marquesas Islands – Nuku Hiva, Ua Pou, Ua Huka, Tahuata, Fatu Hiva and Hiva Oa – where Aranui 5 delivers cargo while guests disembark and explore the remote ports on a range of included excursions such as hikes, 4WD tours, local feasts and visits to archaeological sites.

In 2024, Bora Bora is back on the itinerary due to popular demand, and Aranui 5 will also alternate between picturesque Tuamotu atolls Fakarava and Kauehi on the journey north to the Marquesas, and Rangiroa and Makatea on the return leg. Staterooms start from A$8181* per person twin share.

After strong demand for the inaugural Austral Islands cruise in 2023, Aranui is offering two more dedicated cruises to the stunning southern archipelago in 2024. The 11-day roundtrip itineraries from Papeete will depart March 30 and November 2, 2024, and feature visits to all five Austral islands including overnight visits to Rapa, the little sister of Easter Island, and Raivavae – known as the Bora Bora of the south – as well as Tubuai, Rurutu and Rimatara, from A$8503* per person twin share.

An 11-day Pitcairn voyage will depart on February 17, 2024, including an overnight visit to Pitcairn Island as well as calls to Anaa and Amanu in the Tuamotus and Mangareva and Aukena in the Gambier Islands. The Pitcairn Discovery cruise is priced from A$9234* per person twin share.

"We're thrilled to announce that Bora Bora is back, providing the perfect balance of palm-fringed blue lagoons and lush volcanic vistas in our traditional Marquesas Islands itinerary. It's the cherry on top of a fantastic French Polynesian cruise adventure and we are so excited to be taking guests back to Bora Bora's dazzling blue lagoon in 2024. For travellers keen to explore the undiscovered 'Bora Bora', we're offering two Austral Islands cruises in 2024, including an overnight visit to Raivavae which is Bora Bora's identical southern twin – the resemblance is uncanny," Aranui Cruises Regional Representative Australia New Zealand Laurent Wong said.

To launch the 2024 program, the boutique cruise line is offering an early bird deal with 10 per cent off all voyages booked before February 28, 2023. Early bird prices start from A$7421* per person twin share.
