PONANT increases 2022 Kimberley luxury expeditions

#expeditioncruising .

Today, Deb Corbett, General Manager Sales and Marketing Asia Pacific, announced the significant expansion of PONANT’s small ship luxury expeditions program in the Kimberley in 2022.

We have been simply amazed by the unrelenting demand for our 2021 Kimberley season, clearly confirming pent up local interest in immersive Australian coastal exploration voyages. With the Kimberley being the absolute hallmark of Australian expedition destinations, for 2022 we are increasing the number of voyages to 26 to accommodate the continuing demand by Australians to explore our own backyard.”

“This means we will be increasing our already-significant presence in the Kimberley to the highest number we have ever offered, which will allow us to expand the 2022 season to include the end of the Big Wet, in March, for those who want to feel the power and majesty of the mighty rivers and waterfalls, through the peak humpback whale migration period, and into September.”

Deb Corbett continues, “In order to provide this number of voyages, we are continuing with a second ship as permanent deployment within our expanded Kimberley portfolio. So, if choice, quality and expertise matter, then PONANT is the logical selection, even more so now with our continued commitment of two modern luxury expedition ships and an unprecedented 26 Australia’s Iconic Kimberley’ 10-night departures on offer.”

“With so many voyages on offer between March and September 2022, guests will be able to select their preferred timing and choose between small-capacity Le Soléal, or Le Lapérouse. Either way, a Kimberley experience to remember, and a great opportunity for anyone who may currently be holding PONANT cruise credits,” adds Deb.

Le Soléal provides 95% balcony accommodation, while on Le Lapérouse all accommodation includes a balcony or private deck area. Both offer a selection of world-class dining options and bars, plus the must-have inclusion of a swimming pool - the only ships in the Kimberley to do so - and essential in a region where saltwater crocodiles are the apex predator!

These luxurious floating base-camps are perfect places to relax after a day spent exploring King George river and twin falls, experiencing the tidal emergence of Montgomery reef, challenging the Horizontal Falls or absorbing the wonders of pre-history Wandjina and Gwion Gwion rock art. All accompanied by members of the knowledgeable Australian Expedition teams during multiple Zodiac® outings and shore excursions.

The perfect balance for adventurous exploration of these untouched remote locations, both these modern purpose-built luxury expedition ships combine the day’s immersive expedition experiences with PONANT’s signature French-inspired ambiance, discreet and personalised service, fine dining, Open Bar, 24 hour room service and little luxuries such as Hermès toiletries, Charles Heidsieck champagne for the asking, and renowned Sothys Spa treatments. Creature comforts all sorted.
