The Captain pilots the barge along the River Yonne and Nivernais canal, each day cruising for 6 to 7 hours through glorious scenery and mooring each evening in dramatic Auxerre, Medieval and timeless Clamecy or several other villages.
Daily excursions by mini-bus are included and expert guides will introduce you to a region rich in history and culture including wine tasting, shopping and sightseeing
The traditional English managed hotel barge accommodates a maximum of just 12 guests in comfortably appointed cabins all with their own private bathroom.
Meals are included and the onboard chef presents imaginative French cuisine with a contemporary twist using fresh local ingredients. Breakfast is usually freshly baked croissants, pastries and bread. Lunch is a feast of salads and savoury dishes, followed by a selection of fresh fruit and cheeses. The four-course evening meal is the gastronomic highlight of each day. Imagine glistening glasses and starched linen napkins for a dinner party with friends. Dining by candlelight while the sun-sets, reflecting onto the water, simply bliss.
