The international fleet management company, Florida-based SunStone Ships, has sold Silver Discoverer to French river cruise company CroisiEurope – and has announced that two further vessels are for sale or charter.
Sunstone has been known recently as the builder of the revolutionary ULSTEIN X-BOW® ship design for Lindblad, Aurora and Victory Cruises among others.
Silver Discoverer is currently on charter to Silversea Cruises and after completing a final season in the Kimberley, will be redelivered to CroisiEurope between late July and early August in Singapore. The 102m, 128-passenger vessel is a warm water expedition cruise ship, built in Japan in 1989.
CroisiEurope will rename the ship La Belle Des Oceans. It will be CroisiEurope’s second seagoing ship alongside La Belle de l’Adriatique.
Its expedition cruise ship, Sea Spirit is currently on charter to Poseidon Expeditions, which has operated the vessel for several years on polar voyages.
Sea Spirit was built in Italy in 1991 as Renaissance 5, and sails in both cold and warm seas with a 120-passenger capacity.
SunStone Ships commented “The vessel has gone through a complete upgrade of all interior spaces, such as the soft furnishings in the cabins, new cabin bathrooms as well as an upgrade of all public spaces. Furthermore, in April 2019 new Rolls Royce zero speed stabilisers were installed. It is the first cruise ship to have these zero speed stabilisers installed.”
Sea Spirit will sail with Poseidon Expeditions until May 2022, but offers the vessel for charter or sale with delivery during May 2022 - or can be sold now, with a bareboat charter back until May 2022.

WAH! I love the Sea Spirit with Poseidon expeditions. Will miss it if sold before 2022.
